We are happy to discuss any home of any size or location, so long as quality is important to you. We have a keen eye for architectural detail and accuracy, so whatever style of home you prefer, you can be confident that it will be designed and built with the appropriate proportions, details, and finishes. Of course, every Blue Bee Builders home will be built with the same high level of quality, pride, and professionalism.

The time it will take to build your home depends on several factors, specifically the type of construction, the overall size, and the level of detail. As a guideline, a 6,000- square-foot two-story home with a high level of interior trim and finishes would take us about twelve months to complete, from groundbreaking to move-in. During our initial consultation, we can give you a very close time estimate on your home, depending on your specific details. Our projects are planned and managed very efficiently to guarantee that we do not waste any time during construction, so you can be sure that your home will be completed in the least time possible.

Because we are a true custom home builder, each home we build is unique, so we do not quote prices based on dollars per square foot and assume “standard” items. We do not want to mislead you by quoting a price before we understand the type of materials and finishes you expect in your home, and the range of choices is limited only by your imagination. From our initial discussions, we will be able to give you an estimated price range for your home, and as we get deeper into the design process, we will narrow down the final price, including allowances appropriate for your tastes and preferences. We will provide detailed specifications for your home so you will know exactly what is included in your price before you make any major commitment.

Blue Bee Builders has an in-house design team to design your dream home to best fit your needs. Our design process includes computerized 3D models, so you will have a realistic view of your home during the design stage. It would be helpful if you brought any sketches or magazine clippings so that we can truly understand your likes and dislikes or any features you want incorporated into your home.

Yes, you can! Although we’re sure you would be thrilled with any custom design by Blue Bee Builders, we understand that some people would prefer to work with their own architect. We are happy to work with any other architect!

Maybe. It depends on the existing agreement between you and the builder and/or designer, and who owns the rights to the design. The copyright probably belongs to the original designer, who may have sold you a license for the home to be built for you by the builder you were working with. We have met several customers in this situation, and we often find that when we start talking about what they want in their home for now and in the future, the plans they have are not ideal, either because the design was not a true custom design (the designer had simply modified a stock plan), or because their situation has changed since the home was designed. In these cases, it may make sense to start with a new design. Your custom home should be perfect for you, so you won’t want to compromise on the design, and the cost of the design work you have already paid for is relatively small compared to the overall cost of your home. If you bring the plans to us, we can discuss your options, and we can contact the appropriate person to inquire about copyrights.

Yes. Our full-home renovation service will convert your current home into a Blue Bee Builders masterpiece, even changing the overall style of your home. If you need more space, we can also work with you to design and build an addition to your home that looks like it was there from the day the home was built.

We are happy to offer a free evaluation of any lot you may be considering. We can give you advice on the general layout and orientation of your new home to accentuate the best features of the lot and its surroundings and to make the best use of natural light. We can also make recommendations regarding potential issues such as problematic trees or seawall repairs. If you don’t have a lot yet, we can help you find the perfect lot for your new home.
